Founded in 1976. METROL specializes in manufacturing ultra precision switches. The origin of "METROL" stands for MEASURE and CONTROL. MT-Touch Sensor and MT-Pulser were co-invented with TOYOTA for its car manufacturing lines. (TMS standard)

In machine tool industry, METROL tool setters are widely used by more than 70 machine tool builders in 17 countries. Cumulative total 450,000 tool setters have been working on machine tools (CNC lathes and machining centers) in the last 10 years.

METROL specializes in manufacturing ultra precision switches used for position detection and dimension discrimination, and owns international patents. They are unique products and structurally different from the conventional limit switches, proximity sensors, and photoelectric sensors.

For quality assessment, ISO9001 certification was acquired in 1997.   • Tool setters for CNC machining centers
Overview
METROL Tool Setters is direct acting type. Specially designed for CNC machining centers. Used for length detection of tools such as drills, endmills, and cutters by mounted on machining centers, drilling machines, milling machines, and boring machines.

Useful tips
  • Improve productivity by enhancing net working rate of machine tools. Detect accidental tool breakage in machining process, and stop the machine. Improve productivity and net working rate by avoiding machining problems in nightlong unmanned operation.
  • Prevent defective products. Compensation value automatically to CNC by contacting the tool in sigle operation.

  • Tool setters for CNC lathes
Overview
Tool Setters for CNC lathes are used to detect the position of the cutter blades for compensation. When the blade is pressed against the contact, high-accuracy signal is output to the CNC or PC. And the position of the blade is stored automatically.
As a result, it is no longer necessary to repeat the process of trial grinding, measurement calculations, and input to the CNC, thereby eliminating the need for expertise in tool setting while also eliminating any concern over damaging the machine due to setting errors.
Tool wear and breakage can be detected.
